Stretch Goal 2 Revealed!
– Thu, Feb 16, 2017 at 04:12:32 PM
We are two-thirds of the way through the kickstarter campaign,
and we have already reached out first stretch goal! Thanks to you, we will be
getting a quickstart guide and Roll20 character sheets for everyone to enjoy.
With luck, these tools will make it easier for you to start up your home
campaigns, run sessions at conventions, or explore the city between online.
Stretch Goal 2 – The Reference Deck
The setting presented in the Manual of the Primes is vast,
with fifteen major planes described in the pages of the book. If we get our 300th
backer, we will design a game play aid to make it easier to explore. We will publish
a deck of custom reference cards that describe each of the Heritages, Factions,
and Powers associated with the various planes. This deck will make character
creation easier, by putting a write-up of each of those groups on playing cards
for your reference. There may even be information about the prime worlds and
shard realms, hidden within the deck. It will also serve as a fantastic
randomizer for the group to randomly determine which factions might be
advancing their schemes, which powers might be meddling, and which community
might be caught in the middle.
If we reach 300 backers for the campaign, I intend on preparing
these using DriveThruCards, and releasing them at cost for all backers. I will
also prepared them in a print-and-play format, so you can print them out at
home on some card stock.
I look forward to reaching this goal, because I am eager to
have a deck for my own games!
Happy Gaming!

We did it!
We have just hit our funding goal for Sig. Thanks to all of
you, we are going to be able to afford an offset, full-colour, hardcover print
run of the game for people to enjoy.
This is a heck of a feat for a small-independent press, and I am so glad
I have you in my corner.
Now I am
happy to reveal my first of many stretch goals. Each of these stretch goals will
be unlocked when we receive a certain number of backers. The more we spread the
word, the better the project will be for everyone.
Stretch Goal 1 - Sig Quickstart
At 250 backers, we will produce a free Sig Quickstart
adventure for everyone! This will be a PDF that you can print and play, perfect
for a convention game or a one-shot. This Quickstart will include a set of
pregenerated characters, rules references, a tutorial section, and the Night
Markets adventure.
We will also produce custom character sheets for the Roll20
platform. We will also collect the relevant sheets, illustrations, and
pregenerated characters from the quickstart adventure, to make it easy for you
to run the game online.
Let’s get this done. We have another 19 days to go in the campaign,
and I can’t wait for us to hit this stretch goal!

The Sig Gazetteer
It appears that the Sig Gazetteer, the best newspaper in the all the 'verse, has discovered the shard realm of Twitter. You can find them at @sig_gazetteer, reporting on current events in the city between. They would love it if you followed them and retweeted any interesting stories! It's an easy way to spread the word about the kickstarter, and help us reach our goal!
Play Sig Online!
I will be running an online session of Sig on Saturday, February 4th. The session will take place from from 14:00-16:00 EST and can accommodate for 3-5 players.
Interested? Please post in the comments to this backer update, and the first five backers will get into these games. I will try to record that session to share with everyone, assuming the strange planar magics comply!
Till then, thank you for your time, and enjoy reading through the PDF. Please let me know if you have any comments or questions about the game.
Monsters of the Dimming Twilight

We are ten days in to the Kickstarter campaign for Sig: The
Manual of the Primes, and approach our initial funding goal. Thank
you all for your help in spreading the word on social media, telling your
friends about the campaign, and generally being fantastic freebooters.
In thanks for your great work, I wanted to share an excerpt from
the book, describing the Prime World of “Dimming Twilight”, as described by Liz
Chaipraditkul.
Dimming Twilight
I’ve found the place where stars go to die. They do not
disappear when they go supernova, when their light is finally consumed, instead
they take a final journey to the Dimming Twilight. Each star lives until the
last of its light is seen by the last planet at the end of the universes.
There is no sky in the Dimming Twilight and no ground. When I
first arrived in this place, my body naturally orientated itself to the logic
of the twilight.
Aside from the stars, I found that there were three types of
beings in the Dimming Twilight. First are the talmorim (pronounced:
tal-more-eem), also known as the Keepers; the natural inhabitants of this
world. The Keepers are an eternal race of creatures, with light grey skin and
clad all in black, who care for the dying stars. Their clothing is as different
and varied as all the planes, mimicking the star they are caring for.
Then, there are the travellers like me. The people who hop
in and out of the Dimming Twilight if they can find it. Tourists who wish to
hear the secrets of dead worlds and lost people.
Finally, there are the thieves. The would-be gods who want
to steal eternity from the solar giants on the plane. The talmorim say to take
the power of a star within oneself, the gravest of sins, is to shred the grace
of all things and drink in darkness.
What I found out is that stars only die of their own
volition. They give up their immortality in the ‘verse, so that other stars may
grow and more prime worlds can be born. The Dimming Twilight is a final grace
bestowed upon them, a world created to thank them for sacrificing eternity. The
thieves take this essence, swallowing eternity and thus gaining immortality.
This is but one of the eight prime worlds, described in
detail in the Manual of the Primes. Check out the rest in the PDF, when you
have a moment. Each of the authors crafted a different, compelling world for you to enjoy.
The Monster
In addition to writing about the talmorim, Liz is also the
designer behind Angry Hamster Publishing. She currently has a brand new project
up on kickstarter, called “The Monster”, which looks like a lot of fun.
The Monster is a two-sided story book and roleplay project.
One side will contain the original story and illustrations of an eight year
old. Turn the book over and the other side will be a new adult version of the
story fully illustrated by the Gennifer Bone and with revised text by Elizabeth
Chaipraditkul. Finally, at the center of the book, between the old and new
version of The Monster, there will be a fully gameable system-neutral haunted
house dungeon map. The map will be illustrated by Glynn Seal of Monkeyblood
Designs and include a plethora of weird rooms to explore.

Hello everyone,
The campaign is going very well, and we have already hit 75% of our original funding goal. Great job, and thank you for spreading the word!
I will be running two sessions of Sig online via Google Hangouts on Sunday, January 29th. Each
session will be a two-hour demo with pregenerated characters, and I will try to
record them for all the backers. The game will be for 3-5 people.
Session 1 (Early) will be from 14:00-16:00 EST
Session 2 (Late) will be from 19:00-21:00 EST
Interested? Please post in the comments to this backer
update, saying either “Early” or “Late” in your comment. The first five backers
for each of the games will get into these games. If we have a lot of interest,
I will certainly set up some additional sessions later on!
